Purpose
Mark Twain is often quoted as saying that the two most important days in your life are the day you are born, and the day you figure out why.
Another dictum I appreciate goes something like this: You only become fully self-realized once you start living your life as your true self rather than worrying about other’s comfort with your decisions.
So let’s combine these two, and come up with the ultimate resolution for all of us, for 2023 - one that will insure that we are our happiest, healthiest selves going forward.
Here is my wish for you: If you haven’t done so already, look back over your life, and try to pinpoint the day, or the moment, that you realized why you are here on this earth, your true purpose. Then drill down a little deeper, and honestly asses your life. Are you living that purpose? Are you living consistently with who you are, at your core, at your source? Or, sadly, are you so concerned about keeping everyone in your life content and comfortable, that you lost track of your essential self?
If you are doing the latter, and denying your true self in the interest of getting along, you are creating undue stress for your body, putting yourself in a constant fight or flight scenario, creating an environment in your body where ill health, unhealthy practices and disease can take hold.
Once you have discovered your purpose, recognize and acknowledge it, and live more consistent with it, you will put your body in a more peaceful, tranquil state, minimize the stress that causes disease, and truly thrive as the human being you were meant to be.
You owe it to yourself and those who love you, to honestly find, and live, your true purpose. Only then will you find actual joy. And only then can you sincerely spread that joy to
the world!
Blessings to all, and Happy New Year!
