Life - The Season of Plenty

I apologize to my few, but loyal readers. I have been away for a while to deal with, well...Life. But now I am back to the blogs, and also working on a new book, tentatviely titled TRUE NORTH: How Living Authentially Could ave your Life. An inauthentic Life, it turns out, can lead to deep seated anxiety and stress, which, if left unchecked, may eventually lead to disease and pemature death. To understand why and to learn the tools to prevent such negative outsomes, you'll have to buy the book! Stay tuned for details on that...

In the meantime, while writing and inevitably examining my own life (it turns out that writing is therpeutic for the author as much as the readers, perhaps more!) MY thoughts have settled on the concept of abndance.

Viewing your world from a place of abundance, where you wake up grateful for all the positive around you, expecting nothing but abundance and positvitiy in all aspects of your life. Eastern religious thought traditions teach that it is the fight for acquisition, youth, beauty and admiration are the source of angst and misery in our lives. This is what happens when we approach life from a sense of lack, when we say to ourselves, "IF only I had more, things would be perfect." If onyl I were thinner, younger looking, in better physcial shape, wealthier, more accomplished....then, everything will be ok and then I can stop striving an relax. The problem is you won't. Striving to conquer the snese of Lack which haunts you, becomes a way of life, and leads to misery.

If however, we stop for moment, beome mindful of where we are in life, and who we are in relation to our friends, collegues and family, we can foster a sense of abandance. In fact we should be thankful for all we have in our lives. The sense of life's abunfdance can become a way of life as well, and even feed on itself, leading to miraculous synchronicities, and deep happiness better known as Bliss. We feel the need to make more money, have bigger houses, and more expensive cars, or even endless money in the bank, to achieve this bliss.

Perhaps these are important concepts this time of year, as we traditionally celebrate the harvest, and the fruits of our labors, no matter how objectively meager they may be. We celebrate what we have, the beautiful moments the previous year has brought to us. The people that bless our lives. But what about the disappointments and tragedies that strike us all, sometimes without a moment;s notice? How can we clelbrate abundance in the face of these preceived setbacks?

Living in abundance, helps us to realize that even the negative things that pop up in our lives can be thought of positively as opportunities to grow to learn and to regroup and reassess.

Approaching life from a position of abundnace can help you deal with the setbacks in your life in a mch more productive and positive manner. This is not polyanna - ish to think this way. It still is who you are, just a more poitive version.

You may have to train yourself to see life as abundance rather than lack. To do so, one must quiet the mind, utilizing activities like meditiaon, yoga, walks though nature, kayaking on a quiet river, journaling. all things that bring gratitufe and appreitation of the abundance you alredy have. Make the practice of abundance a lifelstyle and you too may ahcieve bliss.
