Sun Damaged Skin Care

Summer is here and so is skin damage

Sun is the enemy of healthy skin. And your skin is your largest organ, by surface area, in the human body. Why is the sun so bad for the skin? Very simply, ultraviolet rays from the sun act directly on the DNA within your cells, from the surface to deep into the skin, causing damage. Disrupting DNA leads to abnormal cell growth and reproduction, leading to premature aging, called “photoaging”, wrinkles, loss of skin tone, dark spots and cancer.

The best treatment is prevention. Staying out of the sun works best, but that is not practical, especially in our Florida climate. So the next best thing is sun screen. AT MONACO Wellness (www.monacowellness.org) we carry several varieties of medical grade sun block, containing the best ingredients for daily application to exposed areas. We also carry several prescription products, available for purchase in our office, to treat skin that has been damaged by the sun - helping to restore tone and reduce wrinkles. Dr. Lisa utilizes her state of the art IPL (Intense pulsed light) and RF (Radiofrequency) technology to rebuild and rejuvenate every layer of your sun damaged skin.

Our office is in suite 2125 in the Regions Building at 100 North Tampa St. Call us (813- 252-6378) about our complete line of medical grade skin care products and ask us for a free consultation on what type of treatment will work best for you to rejuvenate your skin to its youthful best. If we happen to be out, leave a voicemail, send us an email (info@monacowellness.org) or text or call Dr. John at (813) 541-6440 for an appointment..

Enjoy your summer and wear sun block every day!!
